First day of camp

Jun 04, 2007 16:34

I sent DD1 off to camp with lunch and a hat. No swimsuit. No towel. Oops. I picked up a damp child this afternoon. They had sprinkler play and I have no idea what I did with the sheet that told me all the stuff about camp. Man, I really suck in the mommy department. At least she had food, right? And the dress was this one that dries pretty ( Read more... )

At least DD1 isn't the sort for whom this kind of thing is a crisis! I'd have probably freaked out at her age. And, well, you're allowed to screw up occasionally.

Really? If you had not had a swimsuit you would have had a crisis? I mean, she didn't have to go in the sprinkler. It was her choice.

I was trying to get a bunch of other stuff done this morning (like all my meeting stuff... oops) and get her food packed, so it didn't help, that's for sure.

Tonight I'm planning to get most of the stuff ready before I go to bed. Then there will be less to do in the morning:)

And yes, I know I'm allowed to screw up occasionally. I already did that at the library last week when I put the ILL in the book drop and got scolded for it twice:P (once while I was there and then again today!)

If all the other kids could go in the sprinkler and I couldn't because I didn't have a bathing suit, yeah, that would have bothered me. Even if I didn't especially WANT to go in the sprinkler. Not sure if it would have been a crisis, but I would definitely have been upset.

Good luck getting all the stuff done ahead of time tonight! I think that's what my sister tries to do as much as possible, too.

But if you could have gone in with your clothes on, would that have been ok?

I'm not doing so well at packing as it is 9:30 already. But I'm off to attempt to pack something before I go to bed:P

cute icon, by the way:)

Damn, I didn't want to hear that DD2 wasn't sleeping. Peanut isn't sleeping well still, and she just turned 11 months old. I certainly hope that by the age of 2 she's sleeping. That will suck if she's not.

Well, it's not that she's not sleeping; she's just waking up. She wakes up and cries and I go get her and bring her into bed and we all go back to sleep. Still, it's a disruption and I had gotten used to her sleeping all night.

You don't even want to know about DD1 and her sleep. She seems to basically be sleeping through the night now at 1 week shy of 5, but it has taken years for her to get there.
