Where the days have been

This morning, I wasn't feeling well :( So I stayed home to rest. When I got up, I read some psalms starting at Psalm 51 and reading through Psalm 55. I wrote out some prayers and some verses from them:

Thank you for putting into words the frustration I also feel when there are so many things that need doing and none ever seem to get done. It reminds me of the prayer from the Valley Of Vision book of Puritan prayers - "But, O what a death it is to strive and labour, to always be in a hurry and yet do (accomplish?) nothing! Alas, time flies and I am of little use." Praise God for those true friends - like you and mom - who reassure us that we do indeed accomplish things and though it may seem otherwise, we are of more than little use, especially in the hands of a God who brings life out of nothing, who "gives life to the dead and calls into being things that do not exist" (Romans 4:17). Surely, He who can make Man from dust and children of Abraham from stones and a universe from nothing can and does work in me to suit his good pleasure. He has used you today to touch my heart and heal my distress and help bear my burdens. Thank you.
