Grow up

A few months ago, inspectors came to conduct an assessment of our house and recommend repairs to the landlord. I was home ill that day, so I was upstairs resting. The inspectors checked each room and also came to take a quick look at my room. One of the men saw my plushies and said, "Oh, there's your baby. Why don't you grow up ( Read more... )

Your story makes me so sad. I know how often I struggled with the question of why I seemed stuck at the same age, still liking cartoons, stuffed animals, and make-believe, when my classmates were doing "grown-up" things like getting summer jobs, learning to drive, talking about popular movies and music, and complaining about their parents ( ... )

Thank you so much for your kind encouragement, Nathan and Florida Bird :) I really appreciate it.

Hmm, I never really thought about what "childish" things are or what the gap is between myself and my peers. I knew that I was different when my roommates stared at me for reading biochemistry textbooks one minute and Star Wars picture books the next. No wonder it's challenging to communicate with others. But it's good to remember that the fruit of the Spirit are not subjects of interest or particular activities - they're a matter of character. Thank you for reminding me of that :) I'm so glad that the Bible teaches us what true maturity is and that it's the Lord who is refining His pottery.

And Jesus says we must become like children to enter his kingdom, where children are loved and cherished for who they are.

Oh Megan,
You're such a beautiful sweet caring young lady who loves the Lord! He had no right to say such nasty things to you, and I'm so sorry. Makes me angry...Grrrrrr...Sad to say that there are people like that who can be so cruel. Know that there are so many others who love, care and respect you for who you are. <3 Who know that the journey has been such a hard and difficult one. Yet you have not given up, but kept moving forward, knowing that the Lord was right by your side. You have come so far and we are so very Proud of you Megan!*hugs* (Dad says :) too!!!!!)
