Forming characters, imagining scenes, standing under the stars, breathing deep the foggy NY harbor air under the watchful eye of Lady Liberty, racing under trees along Confederate Avenue where Pettigrew and Armistead had prepared for the charge, stepping onto the site where Yoshida Shoin sensei was buried, watching the same movies over and over

What if it is conceit for us to decide whether we are doing the very most with our gifts? Without people who tinker, examine, and dream obsessively, the world would be a much worse place. So also would we be disadvantaged if all people went from box to box without paying attention to the impressions of the world around them.

I agree with olifhar. Otherwise, life becomes the tyranny of utilitarianism. Dreamers will always been seen by the utilitarians as a waste of resources. That's one reason why artists and prophets are disrespected.

And thus I will tinker with Star Wars script - fun stuff! I tried deciphering the script that appears on the computer screen in Return of the Jedi, but it was just scrambled letters. Maybe that's because it was the shuttle's code clearance for landing? :P
