In terms of non-Haiti related purchases (which are obviously very nice), I approve of Florence + the Machine and The Lightning Thief. "Lungs" was one of my favourite albums of last year and you know how I love Percy Jackson.

Sometimes when I'm bored I add up how much money I've spent on iTunes or Amazon Kindle purchases... it's actually kind of sickening. :-/

But it gets me such lovely things. I'm on to book two of the Percy Jackson books!

And I'm obviously going to go have to look up your end of year post and peruse your other musical choices.

Oh, how are you liking the Percy Jackson books?

Well now I'm about a third of the way through the third book so... LIKING THEM WELL ENOUGH, I SUPPOSE. I mean, I've powered through two of them in three days (not that they're all that long, but still). When I was a kid I liked writing my own myths of the gods and drew lots of little pictures to go with them and that's still how I think of them, so it's fun seeing someone else's modern interpretation. I like Hermes best so far, of the gods. And while at the beginning of the second book I was annoyed by Tyson, now I really like him. otoh I think Luke can go diaf now
