Did I mention YAY?! YAY!

Also, love this! I like the little fiddles you made, and the flow is really good on this one. I love the way you paint Bono, charming and sweet, but mischievous and plotting, but in a good way. But yes, just good work on this! I'm so glad you finally posted it!

Why, it's my lovely beta :)

I adore how you said charming and sweet, but mischievous and plotting, but in a good way, because that's the Bono that came across in the videos you send me, and the comfortable, intimate B/E dynamic - that sits at ease with B's marriage and the cusp of rockstardom and everything in their lives.

I'm glad I finally posted too! Thank you again for all your help! (I say again: now, you :))))

Very nice! Good characterization and flow. It would've been very easy to lose the reader with the jump in years but I didn't find it particularly difficult. I was prepared to quote the same "grey morning" line, but I see that's been done.

There were a few times I felt the passive past tense "had been" was a wee bit overused. And for me, Edge's final line was a tiny bit sentimental/songfic-y. But don't dwell on my pickiness; this was a lovely fic and I definitely want to see more from you, too!

Hee, my schmoopy, songfic-loving ass is kind of busted, bb, but I totally don't mind - inklingfair diplomatically mentioned this also, and it is kudos to her that I actually toned it down from how it initially was! I'm not sure why I went with this kind of gentle, sentimental story about their wives, but I'm not in charge of the muses :)

You guys have been really kind and welcoming, and I am indeed hoping to contribute more to the community! (And not picky at all, this is the kind of fb I eat up with a spoon.) Many thanks, bb :)

Oh, bb, this makes my heart so happy! I totally see the lads as settled and devoted, both then and now, and there must have been so much work needed to get from then to now, you know? I was afraid of over-writing, because potentially so much drama - I am so glad the details that I made and hinted at worked for you!

I have been mainlining B/E videos, which have B following Edge around and filming him as Edge drinks coffee, does some work on the computer, works out, and goes for a walk on the beach. You get the deep sense of how intimate and affectionate they are on an everyday level. And I kind of feel like I could write them living their everyday lives, balancing music and love and other loves, but it would make for the longest (and boringest!) WIP in the history of u2slash :) I should just wait for the PWP muses to strike.

Ahaha, I started my ficwriting career as someone with an ornate, kind of over-embellished style, and thanks to betas and readers I have learned to pare down, tighten etc. I think I am afraid of overdoing things and indulging my purpler, more emo instincts that I sometimes cut back overly? When I forget that sometimes (much of the time) the right answer is to let the emotions and the schmoop out, just don't let 'em take over the story.

And - I love /your/ writing (I find your colloquialisms charming, not inaccessible!), and am so glad you are sharing!
