I was contemplating before exactly what has drawn me into the NFL, what makes me care so much for a team that is based in a city that I've never been to, on the other side of the planet

I completely get that, even though they must do lots of travelling, the 5-7 hours' time difference must wreck you physically and cause a strain mentally (plus if you have a family, it can't be ideal...) It will make money for sure as they've sold out every time (even when it's the Cleveland Browns playing!)

When your country is so large, I guess it must be harder to have the affinity with 'the local team'? Plus, Favre and Rodgers, what a pair of quarterbacks for one team to have for a couple of decades! Wow.

Completely agree, they tend to cluster round the 'big' 5 or 6 teams though, as the EPL doesn't believe in things like the draft to level playing standards out a bit.

I don't have as much of a story except that when I was a little girl I LOVED Blue Jay's player Kirby Puckett. Yep! Kirby Puckett. I think I just loved his name, and he looked like such a friendly guy. I was raised by just my dad and he loved baseball... :)
