Bleah.

This has been a terribly stressful week for me owing to needing to get my thesis done. Now, I have accomplished a great deal on that score, but not enough. And this weekend, when I was hoping to finish the damn thing off, is turning out to be a write-off as far as that goes, because I've got a paper on Plato and a three-hour take home exam to ( Read more... )

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in such a thesis pickle, although I haven't moved on to bigger academic endeavours in the meantime (which I imagine makes things as least as difficult as moving to a small faraway town and trying to find work does). Oh well. It will all work out soon enough.

Good to hear from you, Laurel; it's been a while. I guess if you've been following this you know I'm in Houston now, at least as far away but hardly small.

I just found out one of my committee (only the outside reader, but it's cool regardless) did the same thing when she was in grad school - taking Ph.D courses and working on her MA thesis simultaneously. So at least I can expect a certain amount of sympathy there.

I'm STILL working on the damn Plato paper because I was totally uninspired on Sunday and intermittently ill (no doubt purely a stress thing) Monday and Tuesday. Now it's coming along well, though, and being done for tomorrow sometime is realistic.
