Technically that Star Trek wasn't really a remake. Because of the whole alternate time line thing. And Clash of the Titans was awesome, though I never have seen the original. And Casino Royal was a remake. Sort of.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Let's just face it, our generation is uncreative. Look at fashion too.
Hmmm, fair point about Star Trek. I guess it's a ... Prequel? inbetween-quel? Alternate-quel? Who knows, lol.
I hear tell they're releasing a Director's Cut of Clash of the Titans. That'd be cool.
Was Casino Royale a remake? I thought they billed it as a prequel. But I've never seen it, so you'd know better than I would.
See, that's the thing, though. Our generation *is* creative, but nobody's willing to take risks anymore. Studios stay with the safe stuff - sequels and remakes - 'cause they're guaranteed to make money. When's the last time you saw an original film do really, really well? (Avatar doesn't count because the hype for that was insane.) :-P
