Yes. I've bought a couple on eBay, mostly photos of 50s kids flying Hi-Flier kites. A high-school classmate of mine has bought a few old Tribune pictures of Lane Tech, especially interior shots of the shops and labs.

I've been meaning to look into what rights you buy when you buy them; can they become part of a book or a Web article? Some of them are very noir-style moody and would make very good covers for mysteries or Dieselpunk novels.
