One of my projects last year was to watch all the Disney animated features (plus features with animated portions like Mary Poppins, Song of the South, etc.)

While I wouldn't necessarily want to make a steady diet of The Black Cauldron, it isn't really much worse than The Fox and the Hound or Oliver and Company from the same general period. The Great Mouse Detective is probably the best Disney animated film from 1978-1988.

I think the title of the article "Feeling sad makes us more creative" is misleading. I don't like the word "sad" because the connotations are wrong. It's just the wrong (albeit short) word. With manic-depressive illness, my creativity comes and goes -- but when it comes, watch out! And when it goes, it's like a tsunami heading out to see. It just disappears. Clearly not the same experience for everyone. However, I am comforted by knowing that I'm in the same boat as a lot of other artists. Some days, it's the only comfort.
