The taking offense article linked an excellent Maclean's article about Islam using the language of human rights and institutions such as the UN to suppress free speech world wide, mainly speech that is critical of Islam. You should give it a read.

I've been wondering if I should see The Golden Compass just for the visuals. I like steampunk, so I think I'd like looking at the movie, but am not sure I'd enjoy watching it.

Gas is even lower in some places up here. While my usual gas price barometer is the Pilot truck stop on I-70 at Vasquez (sitting at $1.99.9 as of last night), the Diamond Shamrock on 44th Ave. at Ward was at $1.95.9.
