Chris Cornell Concert Review

last night i saw Chris Cornell, formerly of Audioslave, formerly of Temple of the Dog, formerly of Soundgarden, presently himself. it was the first time i had seen a show at massey hall and all i can think is that it's the only venue that i was actually in love with. it is a venue created for music shows so the acoustics are perfect, the show is

I've seen Cornell 5 times (if I count the whole Audioslave Live @ Much), and last night would have been my favourite if it wasn't for the encore. I really can't stand "Black Hole Sun" unless it is performed acoustically, so I really hate that he ended with that. The acoustic set made my life though. He did 6 songs - Can't Change Me, Billie Jean, Scar on the Sky, Fell on Black Days, Like a Stone, and Doesn't Remind Me. The longest I've seen him go acoustically (besides the all acoustic set he did in Sweden). You know I'm a HUGE Cornell fan (yes, I knew all his solo songs that the rest of the audience didn't know!) so I liked Audioslave because of him, but when the intro to "Be Yourself" started, my sister turned to me and said, "Do you miss Morello!?" and I replied, "Yeah, I kind of do." Even though it looks like Chris is having a much better time performing with the band he has now than he ever did with Audioslave. Anyways, I'm glad you liked the show and it wasn't disappointing! I'll have to write a review of it sometime!

the acoustic set was amazing. i was sitting before the show thinking that it would be amazing to see him do a whole set of acoustic stuff at massey hall, once again i was thinking of the neil young cd. if he did that it would be a must see show for me...i would pay up to 200 dollars to see it. as for the audioslave songs, ya it was missing tom. i remember seeing be yourself with audioslave and watching tom do the song with ONE HAND. it was insane. also i agree, black hole sun acoustically is so much better, he should have ended with something better...im still waiting to hear the day i tried to live
