Ok, smart people: if I give in charity checks before the end of December but the places don't cash them until January, does it still count as 2010 charity?

I've been rationing my last few Ultracets and muscle relaxants since I don't have a regular doctor I can go to for new prescriptions. I've been thinking about who I can go to, especially because my back pain increased from its usual level a couple of days ago and I've got a trip coming up. Poll Surprise!

My annual chanukah gift from my sister is one of those 4-piece boxes from Godiva with a Barnes & Noble gift card. I've decided that today is the day I open the box and start eating the chocolate and I need this student to get the hell out of my office because I want to do that right now. Grrrr.

Best Thing of the Day: When I reset my Interfolio password because I couldn't remember it, the temporary password assigned to me was "EmeraldP0ny."

Edited: A few minutes after posting the above, I left work and discovered that it was lightly snowing. Snow > entertaining password

Today I managed to:

- burn toast so badly in the morning that my apartment still smells of it now, at night.

- burn my hand whilst removing muffins from the oven.

- cut my finger on a sharp edge of a baking tin.

- fall on the steps outside my house, banging my shin HARD; it's two hours later now, and pain keeps throbbing deeply through the bone

Two things that are NOT terribly helpful to single people living away from their families who thus need to find Shabbos meals every week ( Read more... )

Ok, so here's the thing about the TSA's PornoScannerXXX9000: it probably does reduce the risk of someone getting a bomb or weapon onto a plane and blowing everyone up or going on a stab-fest in the air or whatever.
