Yesterday

I spent a beautiful sunny day on the farm yesterday. My dad and I spent three hours shooting at cans and bottles and sticks we set up- he recently bought a high-powered air rifle to take care of a pigeon problem around the long barn and silo. Talk about hillbilly fun. The thing is awful hard to shoot- I don't see how he's going to get pigeons with ( Read more... )

Your posts always make me wonder who you end up surrounding yourself with for your days. (Or end up being surround by, I guess.)

Being a wretch doesn't sound like great preparation for a depression, either!

I surround myself with people who I trust, or, failing that, are fun to hang out with. I'd say you definitely fulfill both of those qualifications, even though we don't really ever hang out (which is dumb ( ... )

I think we are using wretch differently. You're sort of using it in the real way, and I'm using it in the sort of quasi-biblical sense of a beggar or pauper or ascetic or something. Which is a slight exaggeration but isn't totally off.

You probably hang out with really nice, awesome people. My closest friends are nice, awesome people, but a lot of my acquaintances maybe are a little bit more narcissistic/nihilistic/whatever. People I have fun with but maybe I'm not so close to. I never really had that many people like that in my life until the past few years.

They're not the only ones I'm thinking of though. I don't know. Most of my close friends are fairly responsible, stable people.
