obama is personally against gay marriage but he doesnt think that government shouldnt allow it.

i wouldnt personally have an abortion if i got pregnant now. but i does that mean that i think no one should have an abortion? no. it doesnt.

many people felt like they were a part if it because they were, and thats one of the main reasons that he won.
i called about 50 people a week for obama. members of my family drove to scranton at 4 oclock in the morning from maine to knock on doors. for one of the first times, in a really long time a candidate as inspired an incredible amount of young people to register to vote and become interested in changing government and feeling like they are a part of something. and thats important.

did you volunteer for nader?

If Obama were "personally" against inter-racial marriage, or the right of women to vote - but he wouldn't enforce it - would that make him a bigot?

I voted for Obama, even though he doesn't personally believe that I should be able to marry my partner of 6 1/2 years.

I'm trying to figure out if that makes me a phony, a coward...or merely self-loathing.

there is a difference in not personally believing in something like abortion or gay marriage. its an entirely different thing to fight against abortion, gay marriage or a womans right to vote.

Well, let me put it this way. If I met somebody, a prospective friend, and they didn't believe that I should be able to marry my partner, I wouldn't invite them to any of my supergay gayparties held in gaytown by the gays. In fact, I'd probably ask them what their freakin' problem was.

THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING. CEASE YOUR INCESSANT AND UNPRODUCTIVE RABBLE ROUSING. THE COMMON GOOD DEMANDS IT.

I think that both conservatives and liberals are totally phony when it comes to freedom of speech. I've been guilty of it myself.

Are we going to get universal health care?

Hahahahah!

I pay for it now from my taxes and it SUCKS!!!

The US system needs reform but universal health care costs you more if you keep yourself healthy. It punishes the healthy. I would rather choose where I put my money.

And universal health care makes doctors lazy, to say the least.

Maybe it sucks in Japan, but it doesn't have to.

Naturally I expected we'd disagree about this.

But at least we can disagree without offending each other.

I'd really love to believe it can be done better, but it worries me that in the US it would turn into a profit-taking, pocket-lining mess.

If a UHC system could actually be honest, it would be for the best of all people, and in that sense, best for the country/nation. Nationalists should love it (like they love high literacy rates).

But I just fear that once government is involved, it will all turn to poo.
