When We Meet Again

With the end of Anatomy on Monday, it was time to say a farewell to our cadavers.  We held a memorial service for them today, for all of the medical, dental, optometry and podiatry students to share their gratitude, to talk about what this unbelievable gift meant to each of us.  A lot of people shared thoughts, big or small, and I'm very thankful

At the campsite where I'm filming my werewolf movie I came across another filmmaker who was working on a documentary, he said it's all about his life. He wants to donate his body to science for cadaver labs but will only do it under the stipulation that the med students watch his documentary so they get to know who he is before they delve into him.

I found it fascinating. Just a fun fact that seemed relevant.

Interesting... that seems a little backwards, since they go to great lengths to preserve their anonymity.

Honestly... I'm a little torn about whether I'd want to watch a documentary like that. Like I said, it's something you don't necessarily want to keep in the front of your mind the whole time. But maybe afterwards... that might be kinda cool.

Lovely, amigo grande. I really like the idea that you guys held a memorial for your cadavers, tho I can't quite put my finger on why, precisely. I guess it's just good to know that you guys care not only about the people you're going to be treating in the future, but about the people who came before you and are helping you reach that future goal. So go you. :)
