You know, I kinda go in waves. Sometimes I'm on campus and it's all I can do to keep from retching. Sometimes I see the ways various people are really trying to make this work (e.g., a passionate speech before Faculty Senate defending Philosophy, or the pres. of Senate arm-twisting on our behalf). I am frequently confronted with what I now believe is the rank stupidity of many of the administrati, such that I can't even muster anger any more. Sort of like how I feel about Bush--he's just so damned dumb I don't know how to respond. *sigh* It's annoying. I think Brian is fairly committed to staying at ISU if he can, because we like it here in general, and we really like some of the changes happening in town (a real Farmer's Market, an Arts Corridor, etc.), and we like our house and neighborhood. And Brian's job in an immediate sense is a fairly good one, it's just all this penumbral stuff that's so terrible. I guess we'll just have to see how it does play out. Ask again in a semester. =)
