Support Jay Chen and other members of the Hacienda Heights School Board

Last November, I spoke at a small OCA-GLA conference for youth on a panel alongside Jay Chen, a member of the school board from Hacienda Heights.

I wish we'd had a Chinese option in high school! I like Chinese; it's just cool to learn and is useful even going to places that are perfectly capitalist (if you would) like Hong Kong and Singapore.

This is very interesting, thanks! Although I am surprised these joyrides to China were not noted in the complaint or petition for removal--and what does this have to do with the petition to remove Jay Chen, specifically?

If Norman Hsu is corrupt and has misappropriated funds, he should be recalled for misappropriating funds, not for "believing the United States will be subservient to China" or for implementing an OPTIONAL foreign language study program that no student is forced to take. It looks like his term is expiring in December--don't vote for him again!

Also, honestly, while I respect Kai Chen's willingness to advocate for what he believes in, I do not respect his position, particularly his awkward reaction to the Taiwanese-owned Chinese language school/day care that opened in Irvine.

Kai Chen has not identified a single page or sentence from any of the textbooks or materials even remotely indicative of some sort of subliminal communist brainwashing. His awkward blog is available here.The awkwardness of adults is ( ... )
