I didn't realize that with Byrd's death (and Kennedy's last year), he was now the longest serving Senator. Quite a man.

I know, right? Someone shoots your arm off. You happen to be holding a grenade at the time. Do you:

A) Back away as far as you can from the live grenade and try and find a medic?

B) Try and pry the grenade out of the severed hand to chuck it at the enemy?

Everyone knows about John McCain's heroic stint as a P.O.W., but few people I've met know about Senator Inouye's act of bravery.
