I'm back in Los Angeles again after dropping by Irvine to see my brother's graduation. Got a nasty sunburn to show for it, too. And, also, a car. Which involved driving up the 405 for the first time by myself while silently screaming my brains out only to arrive at UCLA and parallel park downhill. Holy frak. Tomorrow is my first day of work.

Would it be too nerdy if you took a small notebook of paper to write everything down on? You're going to get a huge flood of info, meet many people, why not be really nice and say "I'm writing this down so I'll remember it quickly."

Keep it in you pocket/purse and out of sight except when you need to remember something. If your job has anything to do with the entertainment industry, your bosses will be impressed.

Don't forget to check the google predictive traffic thing to plan your commute- sometimes getting there even 15 min early daily makes all the difference. Good luck! Where's work?

Ah, the 10. Fuck the 10.

Make sure to avoid the 405 back and forth- you can hit Westholme all the way to santa monica, and then take the overland entrance to the 10. It's good even on insane 405-is-dead days. The 10 moves pretty good, but if you get there at 6:15-6:30 AM, it moves like buttah.

Also, Metro 20 will take you straight there back and forth. It'll take you an hour each way, but you can go early and read the paper, prepare paper work, play DS etc. on the bus. It's actually pretty nice. Also, cheaper.

Fuck the 20. 720 express bus all the way. And then you can sit on the second half of the bus and have all your fillings shaken out. Or the 920, but I don't know if it goes far enough downtown.
