A lot of people asked me today if I am going off to some sort of vacation after I graduate. I didn't really know this but apparently it's quite common for people to take the summer off before starting work or graduate school. I spent all my savings on a month in England and Ireland. (Originally it was all of Europe until a friend backed out.) There have been times since then when I wished I still had that 5k dollars but honestly, it was totally worth it.

Given the economy and the cost of gas and the exchange rate, I groan to think how much that would cost, but if you get a chance sometime in the next couple years, you should totally consider it. You can do things now that you'll simply be blocked from when responsibility has completely ensnared you.

I would love to take the summer off, but I just don't have the money. I don't know how other people can do it! I'm breaking the bank just going to the east coast for a week, and not even staying in hotels...
