A romantic fairytale might make most "Doctor Who" fans balk. After all, this is an adventure in time and space--not a soap opera. But, by taking inspiration from "The Time Traveler's Wife", Steven Moffatt managed to pull it off with considerable aplomb. Another quibble occurs when the Doctor thinks the mirror is no longer working, Rose asks why they can't use the TARDIS. The Doctor says, "We can't use the TARDIS, we're part of events now." It seems like a nonsense line thrown in to justify not using the TARDIS because using it would be too easy.
Moffat just can't spell "Blinovitch".
Seriously, I knew what he meant. I don't think it's nonsense, but I'm not sure I could articulate it any better, at least not in a single line of dialog.
