Another review and another lost classic. I can't recommend Loose Cannon's new reconstruction highly enough.

Unfortunately the Target paperback was terrible

It's been ages since I read the novelization - I think I must have been 15 at the time - and I do remember not caring for it too much.

I've seen the old recon, and it was horrible. I really need to see the new one. Perhaps I'll get around to that in a few months.

I don't remember much of the story, because the recon was just so iffy, but I do remember being so horribly upset that there was no goodbye scene between the Doctor and Vicki. Their relationship was so close and she was like a second granddaughter to him. Yet we were gypped out of a goodbye scene. *grumble*

Watching the series in order, I felt a definite lump in my throat when Vicki left the TARDIS for the last time, and we had no proper goodbye scene. :(
