I remember I read somewhere one of the producers said Sam & Rose were cousins... but that was maybe just a joke... And then, Rose & the Master have the Vortex in common... Rose became the Bad wolf ad the Master went mad because of it...
I believe the fanon (or at least I saw it somewhere) of it is that Sam and Pete were cousins or something. Although with some serious disjointed working, I'd like them to be closer related.
And well, all Time Lords have the Vortex in common, in fact I maintain that that was why Rose should have been in the finale, "Some get inspired, some run away, some go mad" Master went mad, Doctor ran away, Rose got inspired. If they ever bring the Master back that's not an angle I think they can continue to ignore.
