Okay so I haven't done any of my anglophile weekend reaction post/reviews yet but I guess I'm feeling the need to do a Monday Night Comedy bit also known as...

I think that, lately, every episode of TBBT has been kind of neutral when it comes to ships. Like, I've seen hints of Penny/Leonard and I know Penny/Sheldon shippers have seen hints of them. Sometimes it seems like we even interpret the exact same moment in completely different ways... So I wouldn't say it lacks shippy-ness. It's just not really one-sided right now. Or we're all seeing what we want to see (I wouldn't be surprised). It is lacking more obvious shippy scenes though ( ... )

I've supported doomed ships before...

I'm not even sure how it feels like I'm out of the habit. I have quite a history with non-canon and doomed ships. I mean, even Doctor/Rose was always combined with the worry for how the show could deal with it and maintain it's structure.

But let's examine even just some of my recent ships:
Adama/Roslin - dying on cancer
Lee/Kara - completely frakked up *and* doomed
Guy/Marian - bastard stabbed her himself (and I still manage to ship them)
Ned/Chuck - adorable but not able to touch
Jim/Pam - okay that one's actually good

Granted most of those have a canon reason for it (but so does it in the HIMYM case) even if it's twisted. I'm also a long standing and unrepentant Buffy/Giles and Harry/Hermione shipper. Again, why am I surprised my shipping tastes aren't in the norm?

I think you've posted stuff before that suggested you're a Ted/Robin shipper. That may be someone else on my flist though...I'm sure I've hinted at it before, at least in the sense that while I was completely sold on Ted/ ( ... )
