Okay so I haven't done any of my anglophile weekend reaction post/reviews yet but I guess I'm feeling the need to do a Monday Night Comedy bit also known as...
I think that, lately, every episode of TBBT has been kind of neutral when it comes to ships. Like, I've seen hints of Penny/Leonard and I know Penny/Sheldon shippers have seen hints of them. Sometimes it seems like we even interpret the exact same moment in completely different ways... So I wouldn't say it lacks shippy-ness. It's just not really one-sided right now. Or we're all seeing what we want to see (I wouldn't be surprised). It is lacking more obvious shippy scenes though

I'm not even sure how it feels like I'm out of the habit. I have quite a history with non-canon and doomed ships. I mean, even Doctor/Rose was always combined with the worry for how the show could deal with it and maintain it's structure.
But let's examine even just some of my recent ships: Adama/Roslin - dying on cancer Lee/Kara - completely frakked up *and* doomed Guy/Marian - bastard stabbed her himself (and I still manage to ship them) Ned/Chuck - adorable but not able to touch Jim/Pam - okay that one's actually good
Granted most of those have a canon reason for it (but so does it in the HIMYM case) even if it's twisted. I'm also a long standing and unrepentant Buffy/Giles and Harry/Hermione shipper. Again, why am I surprised my shipping tastes aren't in the norm?
I think you've posted stuff before that suggested you're a Ted/Robin shipper. That may be someone else on my flist though...I'm sure I've hinted at it before, at least in the sense that while I was completely sold on Ted/
