Ooh, Thoreau's journal open to the day...in 1853! Something about that sets me dreaming and imagining. Also, I love the peek into the closet and finding a bust of Emerson! It's so fun to take these tours with you from across the country. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it seems like opening that journal each morning should have a magic, though I suppose in actuality it usually feels like part of a job. It did give me a jolt and a smile to see it though, and imagine how another might have/be spending the same day.
