Winnie-the-Pooh as Poetry Buddy

Whenever a student mentions a memory of a parent reading a book, I smile as if that mom or dad just slipped into the room. There seems to be a pretty direct line between those happy moments and my students’ interest in looking back. Oh, I loved this, Jeannine. Such great advice, that "letting things come." And yes, who wouldn't want a Special Case like that? India-rubber and all.

Pooh's let-it-be attitude has a lot going for it, and nice to see it roll into his writing. I did always have a fondness for pencil cases; maybe it started here? Or that really they just are cool. If only I used more pencils..

Jenn, I think you'd enjoy the humor. Each chapter really can be read on its own, and that one when Pooh keeps trying to get Kanga to listen so his friends can whisk away little Roo is pretty hilarious.
