I'm not a Stargate fan, so I have nothing invested here, but I have to say it sounds like a pretty interesting set-up. (Of course, it begs the question of why a ship meant to be unmanned would have life support of any kind, but .... )
Part of the problem with it is that the first things that come to mind when reading the premise is 1) Voyager, and, 2) Stargate already did the "unable to return to Earth" thing with the first season of Atlantis, albeit without the ship part. It just seems like a retread of things we've seen before, and while it can be done well (see: BSG), I don't have enough confidence in the writers over there to really believe that it will be.
(Also, "but with a cast that gives it a younger vibe" just really makes me go argh! They've mocked that very idea in SG-1's 200, and now they're actually doing it! D: )
(That's not to say I won't give it a try, because I will. If nothing else, there'll most likely be some great relationships between the characters because the casting department has been really great when it comes to chemistry between the actors on the two other SG shows.)
