Ooh, good one. I'm seeing Tegan for some reason.

Which companions should still be around on Earth in 2006? The only ones that I can think of off the top of my head are Liz, Jo, Sarah Jane, Tegan, umm, Grace if she counts, err, Harry? Barbara and Ian would be a bit old, methinks, and now I'm having an image of one of them suffering from a heart attack after watching the broadcast, oh dear. *facepalm*

'Ten kills Barbara' would be pretty harsh... Bet she still has the Fabulous Hair. Mel is probably around too, but let's not.

Barbara shall always have the Fabulous Hair. It's a law of the universe. *nods*

Haha, I am ashamed to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for Mel. ^_^;; But isn't she off on Iceworld with that one dude?

I haven't seen it, but love the idea.

Personally I'm curious as to whether previous companions (who are Earth-residents) ever get hassled when things go pear-shaped for UNIT; my one complaint about TCI, really, remains that I can't see why they didn't try to look up and find Rose.

Right, which companions does UNIT know about? ...well, probably just about most companions. But, yeah, I can see why one would complain about that, and I did wonder briefly why they didn't try the Tyler residence. You'd think that if UNIT was like any other government agency, they'd have a ton of files in the "Doctor: Companions" cabinet.

Hey, maybe that was the problem. They were going alphabetically through the companions, and since Tyler's near the end...

Alright, that works for me. :)

Someone a little more old-school should write that, they really should. *craves*

And would any be on the roof?

(I wrote a drabble, just now, but it upset me a little. More from the implication than anything else.)

Eeeh, that's what casirafics asked too! Can you just imagine what it would be like after for any companion who had been on the roof? Going from someone who helped prevent such things from happening to being yet another helpless victim? That would just be awful.

(And drabble? Are you going to post it?)

Oh... they'd be horrified, particularly... oh. I keep thinking of new ones each time. Imagine the ones who'd been trained to withstand hypnotism and such.

(Wish there were a way of knowing the blood type of characters..)

I almost don't want to post it, as it is a bit old-school, only not... and am feeling a bit self-conscious about that, lately. Bu shall post it here, and hope no one sees. :)

Lethbridge-Stewart turned on the television.

"Doris," he called, "come in, tea's--"

Funny, he thought he'd heard the Doctor's name.

The Prime Minister was giving the Queen's Speech. He hadn't spoken to this one about the Doctor, but there had been that invasion a year ago, so he assumed she'd known. After all, that was the standard practice - when in trouble, attempt to contact the Doctor.

She had been informed of this, it seemed, but... this wasn't right. Not right at all.

He looked out of the window and saw people on the roof, poised to jump.

He ran upstairs.

Sorry to say that I did see this - coming back to comment on a different thread - but it's lovely. I really like the two opening lines, very good. :)
