Saturday 1a.m. PST

I put on my favorite chemise and flip flops wth the flowers on the toe and tuned to the Sundance channel. "Can you stay up?" Well, me and I decided we were going to do our best.
Well, thanks to Sydney and Tokyo - it wasn't hard.

There was a guy from Armenia, named Armen, who I was friends with in Geometry class. He loved SPinal Tap - had the albums, watched the movie over and over again, wore the shirts. He had the hair.
Well, guess what...he didn't know it was a gimmick. The accents, the bandmates, he thought it was all legit.
He had never heard of Laverne and SHirley, didn't know who Lenny was...hadn't even seen Happy Days.
Instead of taking my word for it and catching an episode of Nick At Nite he got mad at me and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. He began to school me in the biography of the band members - which are of course made up.
So I told him, not knowing the true genius behind the band ruins the appreciation he could have for them.
I tried a Tootsie analogy - actors pretending to be a band, trying to make it big with thier music, sorta.
He never spoke to me again. For the rest of the year we sat next to each other in silence.
