Summary: NEWS has a Christmas party but Tegoshi is missing.
”Massu? What on Earth are you wearing?”
The room Massu stood in was decorated with all kind of glistering things, a Christmas tree was in the middle of the room and there was even a mistle toe hanging in the door opening. Everything spoke for a Christmas party, and a Christmas party it was. All of the NEWS members were going home to their families over the holiday so now, the 22nd of December, they decided to throw a party and exchange gifts. Koyama had protested, saying it was too expensive to buy everyone of the members’ gifts, but Ryo had silenced him with a “if you don’t want to give us gifts, give us your body”. After that Koyama had agreed to everything the others had said.
The cloth rule for the party was that everybody had to be dressed as something that had to do with Christmas. The result spoke for itself.
“It’s not something from Earth I think. He looks like an Alien.”
“Don’t be mean Ryo. You don’t look too good either. At least Massu is cute in those clothes, but you on the other hand…”
“What?” “You looks like Santa’s little helper. And now we’re talking those midget people.”
“Uchi, that was low.”
“What? He can’t be as mean as he likes to.”
“No, but anyway, don’t wake up the sleeping bear”, Pi muttered when he passed Uchi, Ryo and Massu by.
“The midget is awake, I repeat; the midget is awake”, Uchi whispered to Massu.
“… Uchi, I can still hear you.”
Massu sighed and went to sit down in a corner. The other NEWS-members were either arguing (Ryo and Uchi had a little bitch fight on their own in the middle of the room) or they were waiting for their last member so they finally could open up their Christmas gifts. Where was Tegoshi, after all?
The well-known other half of Massu was missing and he had no idea where the boy had gone. Maybe he wasn’t even finished with his costume, Massu thought and sighed again. Being a reindeer was a fun idea for a costume, but when the part who’s supposed to be the head and two front legs of the deer is missing it is just plain weird to show up at a party with big, brown trousers and black sneakers on.
Observing the room, Massu found Pi stacked in the red couch dressed as Santa talking enthusiastic with Koyama (who apparently was dressed out looking like Mrs. Santa Claus with long, white braids under his red Santa cap), Kusano and Shige dressed as penguins (what the heck did penguins actually have to do with Christmas? Massu thought) and Uchi the Snowman in big white fluffy pillows and a high black hat talking with Ryo the… elf?
Everybody was there. Almost. There was one member missing.
“Massu! Here I am!”
A happy Tegoshi was heard from the door opening.
“I had a few problems sewing a part of the horn but I guess it’s finished now.”
Taking that as an excuse, Massu ran away from the corner where he sat, tackling a half drunk Ryo down on the floor to Uchi’s excitement and jumped on Tegoshi.
“I’m here too”, Maki said and stepped out from behind Tegoshi.
“YOU?” everybody from NEWS said in choir and Maki giggled.
“Well, Pi invited me in so I thought it would be fun to show up.”
“Yamashita Tomohisa…”, Ryo slowly said and turned around to Pi where he laid on the floor. Pi saw the danger coming and rushed forward to Maki, mumbling something about how it wasn’t exactly a good idea that she accepted something he’d invited her to while he was drunk, and Maki protested.
“But, Koyama is here! Massu too! Hello Massu”, Maki greeted and kissed Massu on the cheek. He could smell a vague scent of sake but before he could say anything she kissed him.
“What the…”, Pi exclaimed and gave Massu a dark look before he lifted Maki up in his arms and carried her away.
“The weirdest things happens at Christmas”, Tegoshi laughed and Ryo just stared.
“What’s up guys?”
“Why are you wearing the same outfit as Massu and a paper head?”
“BELIEVE!”
“Oh dear, not again.”
“What? Maki and I only had one glass of sake before we got here…”
“You spent your day with HER?”
“She helped me sew a few stitches. I’m not as good at this as Massu.”
“But… what is it you’re wearing?”
“Oh, you don’t know?”
“No.”
Uchi sat down on Ryo’s back where he laid on the floor and Kusano and Shige went up from their corner and sat down by the Christmas three, watching Tegoshi as he put his paper head on and Massu crawled up under his costume.
“Hey, Tegoshi, Massu is grouping you”, Shige said but was put to silence as they were finished.
“Ta-DA!” Tegoshi opened out his arms to show the group what he and Massu had made.
“You’re… a… DEER?”
“Yes box al right.”
“So that’s why Massu looked so weird without his other half”, Kusano stated and kicked a little on Ryo’s ass. “And sit up for heaven’s sake. Uchi, get off his back.”
After a few minutes Pi was back, excusing Maki’s behaviour and told them he had left her with Kame in KAT-TUn’s dressing room (by some reason Massu didn’t really feel relieved by hearing that) and told everyone to sit down around the Christmas tree. They sat down and started exchanging Christmas presents and soon there was happy laughs sounding in the room.
“What’s this for?” Ryo asked, holding up a little bag with two straps.
“Tie the straps around your head and put the bag on your nose.”
Since he was a little drunk, Ryo did as he was told by Kusano and then looked up at the others.
“There. So you won’t put your nose into other people’s business.”
Tegoshi giggled happily and gave away his gifts to everybody.
“But what am I getting for Christmas then?” Massu asked. Everyone in NEWS except him had now received a gift from Tegoshi. Tegoshi smiled slyly. Sitting beside the Christmas tree, he raised himself up from the floor.
“It’s over here, come”, Tegoshi enticed Massu and walked in front of him out of the door.
“Is it out here?” Massu wondered and Tegoshi turned around, smiling widely as he could and in one quick move he stood nose to nose with Massu.
“Happy Christmas”, Tegoshi said and kissed him, holding his hands.
“Happy Christ-WHAT?”
Massu’s eyes were as big as balloons and he stared at Tegoshi during the whole kiss.
His soft lips touched his own and when it was over, Tegoshi leaned back and smirked.
“Look up.”
Massu looked up in the ceiling. Above them hung a misteltoe and he couldn’t stop the smile from sprawling out on his face.
“So this is a happy Christmas then?” he asked.
“Yes, for me it is anyway. Here are the rest of my gifts.”
Tegoshi put his arms around and bent forward for another kiss.
It could have been because of the Christmas drink, but Massu didn’t mind Tegoshi kissing him. The rest of their group sat around the Christmas tree and their jaws hanged wide open.
“I think we saw this coming but… we weren’t prepared for it.”
“I didn’t think Tegoshi liked Massu in that way”, Uchi admitted and shook his maracas he’d got from Pi. “But it didn’t surprise me that much. Merry Christmas everyone!”
The rest of the group, except Tegoshi and Massu who was standing in the door way kissing, shook their maracas.
“Merry Christmas!”
