getting old...

I spent most of last week down in Palm Coast Fl at my mom and dad's.  I got a lot done and learned a lot... most of this is pretty boring, so's I'll put it behind a cut tag (if I can get it to work)

I got down there on Saturday during a driving rainstorm. This was like a summer thunderstorm in January!  I forgot how much dark there is in Palm Coast

i know this is tough for you...we went thru it with Steve's grandmother and now we're mostly worried about health issues with his parents and my mom. Fortunately, they are still mobil and mentally able.

I feel for you. My mom is still in good shape and a I hope that continues, but one never knows and I worry about having to face all those things you are dealing with now.

Anyway I just want to say that you are being much more courageous than I about aging parents. Lately I've been trying to ignore changes, issues, problems. My parents' aging has been incredibly hard on them as well as us kids...a very tight knit close family that just doesn't want to have to let go.

I'm admiring your ability to contribute and participate in their lives without making it about your loss. They are so lucky to have you and your practical nature. Thanks for a glimpse of how this is to be done...

Well, it took a while for me to come to grips with this. Whose parents ever grow old? Michelle pushed me a bit on this, too. The biggest issue I have is that I'm 1172 miles away from them. Thank goodness for Southwest Airlines.
