Time may change me, but I can't...

After about 17 years of vegetarianism, I've started eating fish. It was a tough decision, and has taken some work in getting my body re-acclimated, but I'm enjoying the new options. The real driver was my lactose intolerance...going out to eat was getting very difficult and repetitive ( Read more... )

Fish was the one thing I never gave up (though I really don't eat much of it), so technically I'm a pescatarian. Sushi rocks my face and there's no way I could stop eating it.

I find the term "vegequarium" way more amusing than I should.

By the time I discovered sushi, I was already a vegetarian. So this was the first time I got to experience real sushi.

If the zine isn't going to be free anymore, does this mean that an opportunity to subscribe may be in the works?

1. http://www.urbanspoon.com/t/23/2/Pittsburgh/Vegan-Friendly-restaurants - i don't believe your reason. eating vegetarian and dairy free/eating vegan is only becoming easier. this is not to say that i think it's fucked up that you started eating fish or anything. that's whatever.

2. burnt out. burnt library. haaaaa.
i was getting so sad reading about how you are not going to be doing the zine for a while, but... this fall is only a season away! it seems like you are still motivated. awesome. i will be excited to see the new form things take.

even though i don't live in pittsburgh.

1. Oh, it's definitely easier eating vegan than it would've been years ago. One of my favorite restaurants will always be the Double-wide Grill, which is super-vegan friendly. I just suppose I got tired of being-doubly limited by my lactose intolerance. If it had been my decision, that'd be different, but instead my body started being a jerk to me.

2. You know, it always begins somewhere. It's not the first time I've taken a break. But sooner or later, I listen to an album or go to a concert that I feel like I need to tell the world about.

They're a band I've always meant to pick something up by them, but have never gotten around to it. It's good to know they're still around, putting out new music.

bacon-wrapped scallops is still considered fish, right?

Heh! So far, I don't think I like scallops, actually.
