So you know I'm reading this without benefit of canon, but you've still made me care about these two (who I know less about from f-list discussion than most of the others, except that Rosalie doesn't like Bella and fans don't always like Rosalie). Rosalie's mix of guilt, curiosity, and finally love seems really natural for someone in her position, and Emmett seems like a real sweetie! I look forward to the rest of the story.

Wow - thanks for reading, even though you're not into Twilight!

Here's a crash course in Rosalie (see blonde in icon): she was turned during the Great Depression, when Carlisle (Edward's father figure) found her beaten and raped and near death on the sidewalk. Her fiance, Royce, and his friends were the ones who did it. She was a very vain upper class society girl who ended up killing all of her tormentors, but she's never had human blood. She was meant to be Edward's love, but they never got along and she saved Emmett (brown haired boy) and they fell in love. I think she's not at vain as some see her. A lot of people chalk her miserable treatment of Bella up to jealousy or fear but I think it's deeper than that.

I'm glad you really enjoyed it - Emmett is such a great character in the book :) I hope you do read them some day!

Apparently I don't have any Emmett or Rosalie icons - must remedy that...

Anyways, this is wonderful!! I'm not a huge fan of Rosalie in canon, but the fan community is making me love her. She just has so much untapped potential.

I've always been intrigued with how she rescued Emmett from the bear. Her inner strength is magnificent, as she was still a newish vampire and was able to withstand his bear-mauled body. You captured it beautifully.

I love the progression you have of their relationship going through. Her experiences must have made it difficult for them and you did avoid the awkwardness of it where many writers settle for the "Oh, they fell in love immediately" curse. Well done!

This is an excellent fic and I can't wait for the next two parts!

EDIT: Wow, I lose points for not being able to make a comment of my very own and just replying to someone elses ;)

Well, I pretty much love everything you write, so this is no surpise, but this is really amazing! I very much agree with you about Rosalie being a more complex character than most people give her credit for. I mean, the author who wrote Edward wouldn't write such a flat character.
Anyway, you filled my oft-neglected craving for some Rosalie/Emmett love. This was really great. I can't wait for the rest. (Hopefully with more fluffiness!)

Thanks! I'm not sure the rest will be fluffy - I haven't started on Bella yet, and that's certainly not pretty - but I do promise lots of Emmett/Rosalie love :)

This was gorgeous. I loved the changes you showed in Rosalie's character and the gradual progression of their relationship. There really isn't enough good Rosalie/Emmett fic out there and I'm so glad you decided to write this.

Thank you! I'll admit, I was inspired by the lack of fic and the first scene that really came to me was Rosalie staring at Emmett while he chops wood ;) I'll admit, Kellan Lutz is a nice inspiration, but I also like Nikki's Rosalie and am eager for the movie. I'm glad you liked it!

I'm glad you liked it - I hate how she's always portrayed and I'm glad that, as another Rosalie fan, you think it works.
