Very nice. It's very realistic - believable explanation for Jack, and also in that this one conversation didn't solve everything. Also, I love the line about the world's oldest student, because it's so very Jack. =)

It's a very open-ended problem, isn't it? All those years of feeling "wrong" can't be quickly put right. I'm very happy you found it to be realistic, because I was really worried about screwing it up.

And, hee, yes, we can bet that the very first time Daniel brought up The Professor and His Student, Jack made a crack about his age. :-D
