its a pretty bad habit to judge the worth of an album just by the 1337ness of the guitar. one of the best things about music is that there are so many factors that go into making a song good that its impossible to enumerate them, and many of them you cant even put into words. on the other hand, its good to realize they a sucky band is sucky.

wow, i 100% agree with alex about something regarding music. every word. i dont think thats ever happened. but yeah, it drives me crazy when someone says a song sucks because the band isnt throwing screaming guitar leads at you the entire time. i dont care if so and so is the fastest guitar player of all time, i cant sit and listen to a 20 minute instrumental shredding guitar and enjoy it. that being said, theres few things more pleasing than a perfect solo thrown in at just the right moment. and as far as a band like dragonforce goes, i love listening to it for about 10 minutes at a time simply because its unlike anything ive ever heard before. they are perfect for what they are, i mean, they got a hell of a gimmick going for them, but i dont regard them as a better band simply b/c of their musical talent. still cream my pants when i listen, though
