Mmm... remember when I saw Tori live, a few years back. We managed to snag box seats, similar to yours... and she sang a good mix of older stuff then. It was a fabulous show, and Howie Day opened for her, which was the first time I was exposed to him. I will agree with you, that I prefer her super old stuff, but man, just hearing her live blew me the hell away.
An acquaintance tried to get me to go last night, but I really haven't paid her much mind since Under the Pink, even though I still listen to LE a lot. I've seen her twice live, the first time between LE and UTP, and it was a beautiful small place where we sat at a table next to the stage. It's just not worth the stadium atmosphere to me, after the intimate setting. I got spoiled.
I too have been spoiled by small venues. I saw "Arcade Fire" before they got big at The Empty Bottle. I sat right up at the stage, about 6 feet from the band and it was freakin awesome! When you're at a stadium area, "Good" seats are one where you're on the first level, 50-60 feet from the band. Unless you want to spend $100+ dollars on front row seats.
