Entrain!

Nov 29, 2006 14:34

Entrain's at Johnny D's on Friday. It MAY be too late to get a table for the show, or it may not.

Who wants to go?

I'll (try) to make the reservation this evening, 9ish.

If anyone wants to kick Pup, he probably wants to know about this.

music, concert

Yeah, *sigh* I know. Can't go.

If you do go, I'm interested in knowing whether a Volume 2 of the live disks was ever released.

I think I saw on the flyer that yes, V2 is out now. If it is, I'll certainly be getting it. Would you also like a copy?

Um um um...yes. It takes a lot for me to want to spend $15 on an album these days, but yes.

Entrain is also playing in Framingham on Saturday, sponsored by the Amazing Things Arts Center.

The concert will be held in an auditorium in downtown Framingham; seating should not be a problem. There are some good restaurants within a few miles; Sichuan Gourmet, Rasoi (Indian), generic but tasty Brazilian buffet, and I've heard good things (from TB, maybe?) about a sushi place in the Sherwood Shopping Plaza on Rt 9 across the street from the Natick Mall.

If Johnny D's doesn't work out, and you're brave enough to venture outside 128, it would be a good fallback. Don't make me make the chicken noise.

Here's the announcement from a Framingham mailing list; it's also up on Amazing ThingsEntrain (World Rock ( ... )

I would, but I've got a Pagan workshop all weekend. Lest that sound boring to the non-Pagans, I'll tell you that the workshop is on the Feri concept Iron Pentacle, which examines the interrelationships between self, sex, power, pride, and passion -- not in general, but within each workshop participant. Should be interesting. :-)

Yeah, I'm pretty psyched. It's a smallish workshop -- I think there are six attendees, two teachers, and a teacher-in-training who will be helping out around the edges -- so in a Friday-through-Sunday event, we should have plenty of time to really get into things.

queenofhalves gives these workshops; do you know her? If you don't, you should meet her someday; she's positively wonderful.

And if you're interested in the Feri tradition, the book to read is Evolutionary Witchcraft by T. Thorn Coyle. The tradition that Feri is closest to that people have actually heard of is Starhawk's Reclaiming, except that the focus in Feri is more on improving the self so as to be a more positive force in the world, as opposed to Starhawk's greater emphasis on direct activism. Anybody who's worked with one or more activists who have MAJOR issues can understand the value of the former approach. :-)

I'm the rawest of raw beginners, but I *think* everything I said above is accurate. :-)

So, hey -- how's school?
