The kindness of strangers

You know, I had someone once tell me I'd fail because I relied too much on the kindness of strangers. Even at the time I thought that was a bizzare statement; maybe if I were expecting them to feed me or something, but I don't. *shrugs* Interesting statement about their own mindset, though, and now that I'm a bit older I feel bad for that person-- ( Read more... )

I am glad you had people to help you. It would been a bad situation if you didn't get help. :D People are wonderful sometimes. I hope you get the wheelchair fixed.

Oh wow... That's awful about the wheelchair, but kickass for the strangers helping in your time of need (or Sam's to be more precise ^_^)

Doggie in trouble? PEOPLE TO THE RESCUE!

I think your absolutely right about this. My dogs decided to run around in neg 30 degree weather one winter and I had to run after them and all these strangers offered to help cuz I was only 9-10 years old at the time and I couldn't catch up to them. In Buddhism, they say that the kindness of strangers is actually a chain reaction of good deeds that has been passed on and remembered, sparking more good deeds to be done because we have experienced kindness, so we are more likely to be kind to others in turn.
