Oh my goodness! What a horrific experience! Just hearing about it makes my heart go all panicky...
On the bird front, Sweety is doing really well - possibly regaining some movement in that foot. I've also found a delightful pet sitter who lives down the road and will take care of my babies while I'm in Europe. They're finally starting to nibble at the fruits and vegies too. Apple is a big favourite, although obviously after corn, and they're looking at the carrot and broccoli as if it might just possibly not be a toxic monster out to eat them...
**grins** Yeah! Though it might be a while... a year... ;) I got a book of animal stories from that famous vet, though, to see how he goes from one to the next. That's my current sticking point. ;) So hopefully it'll be less than a year... ;)

And I'm pretty sure that carrot and broccoli IS a toxic monster. Obviously, they got my message... *grins*
I started putting chunks of corn on the cob onto kabobs in my conure's cage; they LOVE them. *grins*
