omfg. this noob at work just said that I'm not a "true metal fan" cuz I don't listen to craptacular 80's hair metal/ glam metal. wtfever! Now I'm mad.

Oh and my friend at work said that Dio > Halford. What is with this blasphemy today?

And to go with the whole Dio discussion...

metal, music

Umm...this Dio song sounds rather '80s/glammy to me.

it's Dio. He's a legend. He was the one who kinda started the whole Devil Horns thing and he was the lead singer of Sabbath before Ozzy.

Ahh... Well he has a great voice. I guess it puts things in perspective, that every other '80s "metal" band were biting off of his style.

I once knew a lady with a huge Dio tattoo on her upper arm. She made claims to have been "physical" with the man once, but not a groupie, more like a fan who managed to get backstage and make out with the guy.

She was a cool lady....

HEHEHHEE...I had to sing "Rainbow in the Dark" for my friend's band in high school. LAWL!

Priceless.

I was never a hair metal far, personally, because it's not brutal enough for me.

I agree. Hair metal is so weak sauce. I don't even consider it metal because it's so freakin cheesy and we all know that true metal is not cheesy at all. :) Okay, maybe Deicide and Cannibal Corpse, but at least they're brutal!
