I've lost a friend

I just found out that a dear friend passed away Friday, Nov. 9th. I met her online and while we never met in person, we did speak on the phone and via email and PMs. She went under the handle of Save the Humans or STH. I don't want to go into great detail but diabetes and heart trouble was what took her from us. I'm going to miss her a lot ... ( Read more... )

Please let me offer my condolances, jb. I only heard the news this morning. I'm deeply saddened by it myself, but I know you were especially close to STH. This must be such a big loss. I always thought of you two as the 'top Dessy fans' on the Fuse. Lost fandom will never be the same. I'm so sorry.

I'll be writing more on the Fuse shortly, but I just want to send you this personal message of sorrow.

Thank you, Cappy. She adored you, you know that. She loved your stories so much! It's just still so surreal. I wrote on my current fic on the train in this morning and it just seemed so strange ... knowing that she won't read the next chapters I put up. I kick myself now because I had a chapter ready to put up last week but I put it off. It's exactly a quote I made up and try to live by (and one that she loved) and yet I failed it. "The biggest regrets in life are not the things we did but the things we did not do. From this moment on, live without regrets!"

*sniff* STH was always the most eager for chapter updates. I'm sure your gonna feel very heavy hearted when you do post that new chapter, jb.

I posted a longer version of my Desmond/Charlie/Superman/Flash theory on the Life Support thread this weekend. I can remember wondering where STH was, because I knew she loved my original theory. I was looking forward to discussing it with her. It makes me realise how much I always enjoyed chatting with her.

I love your tribute vid to fandom and friendship.

Let me also offer my condolences too Jane. Lyndi and I have been talking about this since we found out yesterday and both of us have been in tears most of the day. I never knew her more than online but she not only loved Des and Jack but she loved James and Kate as well. I miss her so much already, and I hate that she will miss the rest of the show.
