Everybody needs a Kayrin...

I had written this long entry about what happened with the Death of the House, totally inspired and reflective, praising Caterpillar and our days together. And then I moved my computer, and it all went downhill. I lost the damned entry. Hopefully, I'll get inspired again because I was proud of that sucker.

Kayrin came down this weekend, being my second visitor since I have officially lived in the state of Maryland. It amazes me that no matter where I move, she will come to arrange it. And she likes doing it, which is the fun part. She also told me that she has come to visit me every year on this weekend accidentally, which is true. For instance, last year around this time, she came to Allentown to help me rearrange after Trips had moved out. And now, she came to Catonsville.

The issue with Catonsville? Though most of the furniture in Allentown was Trips, he left it in my apartment because he couldn't take it with him and I had no furniture anyway. I didn't realize how true this was until Shink helped me move to Maryland. My first month and half in Maryland consisted of one chair and one table; the couch I loved and everybody hated was promptly thrown out during the move because it died. A lot. You could tell I had only spent eighty bucks on it, but boy, did we get our money worth. The only people who would sit with me on it would be Caterpillar, Trips (occasionally), and Bluejay. Everyone else sat on the white couch sleeper, though I knew that would not fit through the doors of my living room down here. Granted, that one ended up dying, too; only my side of the black couch and Shink's side of the white couch were okay, though the black couch was clearly torn up from the floor up.

Anyway, I needed some furniture.

Lots of things happened yesterday; I had to go to the Post Office to get the box of my new cell phone and Snuggies, fight again with the Comcast man (but hey! My cable actually works now!), and pick up Kermit from the Brothers because he was very, very sick. All-new-brakes-front-rotors-and-rear-brake-drum-cracked kind of sick. But thank God I already have a mechanic down here, or I would have srsly been anally raped.

Moving on.

So we dropped off Kermit, went to eat at the Double T Diner, and then to the furniture store right behind it. At which point, I bought lots and lots of things. Though I was going to wait for the delivery guys to show up, Kayrin and I decided to implement the Fat Chick Moving Squad (you CCC girls remember it, right?) and just do it ourselves with an In-Town Mover from UHaul. I rented a 10' truck, we loaded it up, and brought it home. My main concern was that the couch wouldn't fit through the doors, but it did, and it all looks amazing. So, here's your photo tour!

First things first, I decided to go ahead and buy another bed. Granted, it's nowhere near as snazzy as mine, but it's a full and people can sleep there. Kayrin's showing off the beauty of the bed. I sent a message to Smurf about it, and she stated she still wanted to sleep in the nook (which is behind Kayrin); I think she's going to be fighting over that with Bluejay.

I just love the style of this table. It's bulky, but it's a good size, and we got it marked down because it had some damage. Oddly, in the light of my apartment, you can't see the damage, so yay for that! The chairs are a brushed chrome and have cushy bottoms.

This is the third or fourth time I've rearranged this room now, but it looks like this might be the best bet. I took one of the chairs out of the dining room because I FINALLY HAVE CHAIRS TO DO THAT FOR. And my office chair is still in Allentown, though I'm wondering if I'll even keep that thing since it's broken in various places and the back doesn't stay on all that well.

I sent this picture to Shink with the title of "Cardeza of Sex." Apparently, I couldn't spell last night, but Kayrin originally found this credenza and the matching night tables. I originally wanted the night tables, but since I have no storage in my new apartment, I could use the bottom drawers of the credenza for extra towels, sheets, toilet paper, etc. Typically, I only put my underthings in my sewing cabinet, hanging all of my other clothes. But this credenza is basic sex. First off, it's secure enough that you could have sex on it. Second off, it's such a dark wood and the patterns on the top drawers are simply me. I love this damned bedroom set.

This is simply my pride and joy, and you can see such a dramatic difference than when I first moved here. The only thing I had was the white checked chair (lower left), the coffee table, and the table with a lamp attached (upper right). Then Shink gave me the TV stand to help organize my TV stuff, so that was awesome; I still only had one table and one chair. Lilo gave me that red rug probably about a year ago, and I wanted to put it down to protect the floors and also help with games of Kings which will no doubt be played. We bought the couch and chair which are omgsocomfy for a decent price. It's amazing how much of a difference that makes; I am SO happy with it.
Now, I have spaces to entertain guests and even let them sleep over if they want to. It was a point of contention because I could only have one guest spend the night because I had no place to put them. Or when Shink or Mimosa were here, they would sit in the chair and I would sit on the hexagon table, leaning over them. Now, I have places to entertain and it's all grown up and stuff.

Srsly, everybody needs a Kayrin. She's very handy...

... you can go find your own though, because this one's mine. (And Otter Bucket's, of course, no disrespect intended, ha.)
