Today was Day 1 of my Feldenkrais training. Some parts of it were really hard, but it was satisfying overall and quite fun. A very cool idea I got from it that I'd never known much about before is the homunculous or "little man" theory. Neat! I didn't realize the lips/mouth would be as huge of an area in the brain after the hands.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about all this, whether on this blog or another one.

The homunculous sounds very interesting; I can see it being important in the therapy. The long rest periods while learning make sense, too (although I personally might have trouble staying awake).

I'd like to read your other posts about this training, please, whether on this blog or another one. You could go also halfway and just tag the entries about Feldenkrais or set up a specific filter for them.

The funny thing is that falling asleep during a lesson is completely okay, if not occasionally encouraged. I fell asleep during one today because I was in such a relaxed state from the lesson that I just kind of drifted off. It's not a bad thing though, because it gives your brain time to process new information from the lesson.
