Prof Gotou said, "Kabuki is a continuous shift between reality, stage reality and fictional reality".

I think Kabuki catches my curiousity in ways other theatre forms have not managed to because of the ambiguity between character and actor. At some points in time, the story on stage seems almost insignificant in comparison to the actor on stage. ( Read more... )

I saw this on tumblr and can I just say

You've got it. You've nailed it. There are people who don't think as deeply or who don't know how to express it, and I think that is where our bad rap comes from, but you've said it all and I couldn't be more grateful ♥

I shall proceed to direct anyone who questions my fangirling to this post so they may bathe their minds in this glory.

But I also do have to say that there are different kinds of fangirls and our bad rep comes from some of their (undeniable) bad behaviour.

For the sane ones, we just have to continue liking what makes us happy. (: And if Arashi makes us happy, no one can take that away from us. (:
