Fuckin suck ass. Still sick as a dog but now with zero appetite. I can't believe this is day 10 of being sick to my stomach. I sont care if I never see another saltine in my life! This is suprmely frustrating ( Read more... )

Doesn't sound like the flu. Sounds like you pick up an enteric from somewhere...being sick for that long sounds like campylobacter or E coli or something. Still has to run its course, the only real treatment for most of that stuff is IV fluids when necessary...but you may want to think about having a test done through a doc and making sure it isn't something they should be treating. There are several parasitic GI illnesses that need medication.

and you are correct. if it were flu, you would have a fever, that's mostly what makes flu flu.

there is a multistate salmonella outbreak going on right now associated with turtles...be super super careful handling any reptiles, especially in pet stores...

Um, can you send me more info on this idea? Being as I think getting sick pretty much coincides with when we brought the turtles back into the room. That sounds like a scary kinda thought... But hell imagine it was as simple as that! Then we'd know how to proceed.

well, the salmonella warning going around now seems to be linked with the red ear sliders less than 4 inches...so i don't think it's kelly's turtles, although any reptile can carry salmonella and you should both be careful about handwashing after touching any of the housepets, reptiles especially ( ... )

there is a couple of really odd viruses going on right now

both my kids have been hit by soemthing similar

Well, funny you should ask... Been a bit phlegmmy the last few days, but I attribute the stuff I cough up to not having a cigarrette in a week. However, when I blow my nose its been a bit thick. Kelly was afraid he might have sinus issues...

Taking care of sick little ones is worse than even being sick yourself, I think. Hope they feel better quicker than I have!

I also recomend vics vapor rub...
