Finally, back on the "horse" as it were...

I finally got back on the exercise wagon today, though it was a long time coming. My original plan was to run with the dog we're babysitting, but since the turkey got to us, I didn't pack the right clothes to go outside woggling. I had my sweatpants, but not tops, and didn't think running with my heavy winter coat would have been conducive to either me or the dog. Instead, we took the 1.9 miles at a nice clip, finishing in 53 minutes. Granted, she had to stop multiple times to pee, sniff, kick up leaves, poo, and get petted by strangers, but otherwise, it was a jaunty stroll that we both enjoyed.

I finally found a website that would calculate how many calories I burned in the time I spent walking, so thankfully, I kind of know where I stand. I decided to continue along the same vein and did a “hotel” workout for roughly 20 minutes. It was a combination of the following, which I got off of a youtube video of Jillian Michaels:· Jumping jacks
· Jumprope
· Butt kicks
· High knees
· Skaters
· Lunges
· Squats
· Push ups
· Supermans
· Planks
· Bicycle Crunches
· Leg raises/Tornadoes
The combination of cardio and strength training really did me in. The dog’s already been napping from our walk earlier, and since I’m freshly showered from their too-hot shower, it’s taking all my effort not to do the same. I plan on working on some homework since my partner is currently at his parents’ and I have the house to myself for awhile. I do need to fix myself a late lunch. There was some temptation this morning and I got a breakfast sandwich from the convenience store, but got some fruit and a mango Naked as well, so not all is lost…

… I see more healthy choices now that I’m back on the wagon.
