Uglies is a good book but otherwise very predicatable. Don't read it expecting something you probably have never read before. There are two sequels to it that are, again, predicatable. But perhaps I am being cynical, because I don't really like 'girly' books to begin with and Uglies has somewhat of a shallow, girly plot.
You may enjoy it. My friend Melanie loved them and made me read them, so that the only reason I know anything about it.

I am pretty sure I thought it would be predictable from when I read the summary. I don't think I won't like because it doesn't have unexpected twists. *shrugs*
I kind of like (a lot) girly plots sometimes. Of course, I have to be in the mood for them...But, hey, I read the Twilight series and love it. That has a very girly feel to it.
I plan on reading The Other Boleyn Girl real soon. It's looks like the sort trashy-awesome stuff I like. And I haaaate those movie covers, but they're cheaper like 90% of the time, so I always cave and buy them.
Like others have said. Uglies is really great. One of my favs. I haven't read the others but it really looks like we have a similar interest in books. I have all but Ophelia.
That's great to hear from someone with similar interest in books. I think it will fit right in to my tastes. Ophelia looks really good as well and I have heard only good thing. There is a comment below by someone who has already read it, if you want to check out what she has to say about it.
