I do the same thing. I don't really do much in the case of medicine because I was raised to not take it if I didn't really have to cause it's not fantastic for you, and since I can't swallow pills I don't really take anything. To me colds/flus/things not serious are just deal with it =P My roommate takes whatever drugs possible when she's remotely sick =P
We were raised to not take it if it isn't really serious, but my younger siblings are taking more medicine when they get sick...I stick with and am a firm supporter of the Just Deal, Wussy-option. ;P
same here! Though the can't swallow pills thing gets me too. I can, however, take the 6-8 year old's dose of children's motrin for a headache, and took the same dose when I got my wisdom teeth pulled....
I can swallow pills if I need them, but if we have them (my sister can't swallow pills like you) I'll take the children medicine. It usually works. and they are tasty. ;P
I agree about pretending you are not sick. And if I have errands to run I get up and leave the house. But when there is no imediate need, I just laze about...
I don't take medicines when I'm sick, excepting a tylenol or advil if I really fucking ache or have a bad headache. I actually get really pissed off at people who try to pressure their doctor into giving them an antibiotic for their kid's flu, cold, or other virus-based illness.
Really bad headaches and hurting myself do badly I want to rock in place and/or start bawling are the only times I take medicine. God, I hate that too! Those parents are overprotective to the point it is harmful to their children, whose immune system relies on drugs...It makes me want to rip my hair out.
